The Bartlett Nature Center resides in the James “Pate” Philip State Park, which the state has not reopened yet. This means that the trails, land, and visitor center are closed until the state declares them open.
Bartlett Nature Center offers a large variety of programs to explore nature through activities, hands-on projects, and games for: Boy and Girl Scouts, schools grade K-12, home schools, daycare & preschools, public/private functions, birthday parties, youth groups, and the community. A variety of animals consisting mainly of reptiles, amphibians, and insects are available for viewing. Animal bones and pelts are also on display. There are four miles of crushed limestone trails on 501 acres. Hiking, bicycling, cross country skiing, and snowshoeing are permitted on trails. When snow is on the ground snowshoes and cross country skis are available for rent through the Nature Center.

The Nature Center is closed on New Year’s Eve, New Year’s Day, Easter, Memorial Day, Fourth of July, Labor Day, Thanksgiving Day and the Friday after, Christmas Eve, and Christmas Day.
